I dont know if there are any higher end Oilers collectors on here but thought I would list it anyway.
Offered is Bill Ranford's game worn 1988-89 Edmonton Oilers home white Nike mesh jersey featuring the attractive Oilers 10th Anniversary patch. Bill only wore Nike jerseys during the latter part of 1987-88 season when he was traded to Edmonton in early March 1988 and again in 1988-89. This was also the final year the team wore Nikes before switching to CCM in 1989-90. Bill only wore a handful of Nike jerseys so they very rare in comparison to his easier to find CCMs.
AUTHENTICITY - Jersey came from the collection of 1979-1996 Oilers jerseys that Peter Pocklington sold to Wexler in 1997 and comes with full MeiGray Group Certificate of Authenticity / registration paperwork and Oilers letter.
JERSEY WEAR / DESCRIPTION - It shows nice game wear for a goalie jersey with a handful of visible puck and/or stick marks which have not been removed by the team's heavy laundering. In addition it shows a few light red post marks and stains on the sleeves which have been custom shortened to Billy's specifications. Inside there is light pilling and a 1" square team stitched repair on the left sleeve cuff.
TAGGING - The jersey has a blue Nike tag, size XL fly tag and "1988/89" written in blue felt in the collar.
OTHER - This particular jersey was also worn during the 1989-90 pre-season as the Oiler's CCM jerseys were not ready in time so they wore the previous year Nike jerseys. However for sponsorship purposes the team had to cover up the Nike logo on the back hem of the jerseys. The white set including this jersey had the Nike logo cut out with a small piece of Jersey material neatly sewn into it's place.
EXTRA - Jersey will come with a 1988-89 Oilers program with Ranford on the cover either wearing this jersey or a one similar in likeness (photo is not the best so I cant match).
